Why does a Java crash occur while playing Minecraft?
This article applies to:

- Java version(s): 7.0, 8.0
When I try to run Minecraft, a Java crash occurs and leaves a hs_log_pid log file on the desktop.
The hs_log_pid log file will contain a line that begins with org.lwjgl.opengl. This indicates that an error has occurred due to incompatibility between video card driver and the Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL).
Minecraft can crash due to a compatibility issue with the video card driver currently installed on your system.
To fix this issue the video card driver installed in your system needs to be updated.
